Q: I will write a book about a sort of made up world. Its sci fi and I still didnt start realy. Just thought alot about it. So how many pages do you have the capacity to read?
A: long enough to tell your story. but if you're aiming for a specific target audience. that might dictate how long your chapters are as opposed to how long the book should be. look at the harry potter books. they're what? 700+ pages long some of them so there's no hard and fast rule. then again she had a built-in audience but for a first book, i'd keep it 300-500 pages
