Q: This is my second semester taking a dance class and I have discovered that when we stretch like when we do straddles, I can't even open my legs 90 degrees. And when we do our splits I am still on one knee. I can't touch my toes even when my feet are apart. I have been practicing a lot in class and outside of class, but I am still not getting any more flexible. My teacher said that these things just take time, but its been over 9 weeks of consecutive practice. I would think that I would've seen a little bit of results by now. Is there just something wrong with my body? Could I have inherited inflexibility?
A: Sorry, I don't know how to really help you there :( If you haven't been practicing any kind of stretching before you took dance, then your body just stiffens up. And I know that when you're younger, you're more flexible. But as you get older, you get less like that, so you constantly have to stretch to keep in shape. Maybe this can help? ^^ http://www.wikihow.com/Become-Flexible It has instructions and helps on keeping all of your body flexible.
