A: For anyone who stays up on current events and/or is well read in history is aware. This has been going on for over a thousand years. The only question is, how realistic is the West in fighting this war. Setting down with them is not the answer. Following the funding sources will bring to the fore countries and organizations which espouse friendship with the West and yet empower the extremists to continue fighting. The friend of my enemy is my enemy. Keep in mind, these extremists are people who do not believe in individual rights and in fact believe in the less than equal position of women in society. This is a fight for the future of the world. Will it be a world where cultures that believe in individual freedoms are welcome or will it be a world where a small religious elite rules harshly over their own followers and believe that it is honorable to enslave and kill all others.
