Q: I need to know how the Big Bang is relevant to today's (contemporary) society.
A: Though it helps to explain how the planets, stars and galaxies were formed, why the Universe is expanding and why we are moving away from some galaxies at a break-neck speed, the theory may not be relevant to most ordinary folks. Cosmologists and astrophysicists are working on the state of the Universe or multiple universes before this event, and when or whether there would be a Big Crush towards the end, and the whole cycle repeats itself. But as the Big Crush will come about billions of years from now, outside our life-span you could say that this event and a possible repeated Big Bang are of no real concern or relevance to us in today's world.
