the selection of the receiver is important because he gets images and knows the history of the world before it became “perfect” or the Utopian society and not a lot of people can see the things that the Jonas saw. the receiver needs to know about what the people really could see but they didn’t. the giver needed to give all the information of what he knows, and researched so that he would be the new giver, and when the old giver dies, Jonas can take his place and give to the new receiver.
