Hello gohawkeyes,

I'm afraid Researchers are not permitted to correspond with Askers

beyond the confines of this website.

I can post the official rules for the Van-A-Day Giveaway here if you want.

Thanks,

Clarification of Question bygohawkeyes-ga

Yes, please let me know what the official rules are. I have been told

the "official" rules are different than those which are listed

elsewhere. I am specifically needing to know by what date entries

must be postmarked, whether or not they will accept new entries

throughout the entire month of February and whether or not cell phone

numbers are allowed for the contact number. Thanks for your help.

due to production exigencies and/or other promotions (e.g. to conduct

other home viewer promotions). It is currently anticipated that the

Sweepstakes will not be played on-air on February 11, 2005, resulting

in a maximum of nineteen (19) Question Dates (defined below) on which

Sweepstakes may be played on-air. All required entry information must

"Entries") to be eligible. Multiple Internet Entries by the same

affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively "Sweepstakes Entities"), and

members of their immediate families (parents, children, siblings,

spouses) and/or persons living in the same households as such persons,

whether related or not, are ineligible to enter Sweepstakes and cannot

    win prizes.

    3. Drawing and Notification: Starting on or about January 27, 2005

(and on or about each Friday thereafter through February 18, 2005) an

appropriate number of Entries, plus alternates, will be randomly

selected in a drawing by the Administrator or a representative of the

Show, whose decisions are final and binding in all respects, from all

eligible Entries (as described herein). The final drawing will take

place February 18, 2005. Each weekday that the Sweepstakes is played

beginning on February 1, 2005, through the last "live" or "taped"

broadcast of LIVE With Regis and Kelly airing on February 28, 2005

("Question Dates"), a representative of the Show will call one (1)

randomly selected entrant ("Selected Entrant") prior to the taping of

Show (during Sweepstakes Hours). The representative of the Show, at

Show's discretion, may call up to two (2) additional standby entrants

("Standby Entrants"), who may be allowed to participate on-air if the

first Selected Entrant (or a subsequent Standby Entrant who

participates on-air as a Selected Entrant) fails to answer that day's

question about a previous Show's broadcast correctly ("Question"). If

the Standby Entrant(s) is/are not spoken to on-air, such Standby

Entrant(s) will not receive any prize and will be returned to the

entry pool. Selected Entrant will be called at the telephone numbers

furnished by Selected Entrant on his/her entry and notified that

he/she is the Selected Entrant (or a Standby Entrant, as the case may

be). For the call, Show's representative will spin a prize wheel to

determine the "Wheel Prize(s)" (defined below) that will be won by

Selected Entrant, in addition to the "Vehicle Prize," (defined below)

if he/she correctly answers that day's Question. Spin of wheel may

take place before or after Selected Entrant answers the Question. The

Wheel Prize wedges will consist of either one (1) additional vehicle

accessory option (options listed on the wheel will be determined

day-by-day by the Sponsors/Show in their sole discretion) or will

consist of an additional Vehicle Prize to be delivered to a friend or

non-immediate family member (defined as people other than parents,

spouse, children, or siblings of a winner) designated by the winner.

Wedges may be changed and or added on any given Question Date at

Sponsors'/Show's sole discretion. If the original call to a Selected

Entrant results in five (5) unanswered rings, a busy signal or an

answering machine response, the Show's representative will call again

one (1) additional time. If the second call again results in five (5)

unanswered rings, a busy signal or an answering machine response, the

entry of that Selected Entrant will be returned to the pool of

unselected Entries, as described below, and Show will attempt to

contact a new Selected Entrant. If the call is answered before five

    (5) rings and Selected Entrant comes to the telephone within

approximately twenty (20) seconds (and if Selected Entrant is

available to attempt, during Show's broadcast (or taping) to answer

that day's Question), then Selected Entrant will be given the

opportunity to answer that day's Question. Selected Entrant will be

given twenty (20) seconds from the time the Question is asked to

respond with an answer. Selected Entrant will be given only one (1)

attempt to answer the Question. If a call is placed to Selected

Entrant and, after the call is answered, the call is disconnected or

technical difficulties are experienced during the call, the Show will

make one (1) attempt to call Selected Entrant back. If the Show is

unable to reach Selected Entrant by telephone, that entry will be

returned to the entry pool and an alternate Standby Entrant (in order

of selection) will become the Selected Entrant and may be called until

a qualified Selected Entrant is reached. If Selected Entrant correctly

answers the Question in the allotted time, he or she will be awarded

the Vehicle Prize and a Wheel Prize. Selected Entrant's opportunity to

answer Question may be broadcast during Show, at Show's sole

discretion. Immediately after Selected Entrant answers his/her

Question on the telephone, he/she will be notified of his/her

potential winner status, subject to subsequent written verification.

If first Selected Entrant does not correctly answer the Question, at

Show's discretion up to two (2) additional Standby Entrants will be

given the opportunity to participate on-air and receive a chance to

correctly answer the day's Question to win a Vehicle Prize and the

Wheel Prize determined by the first spin done and announced on that

day's Show. The Show will speak on-air with a maximum of three (3)

Selected Entrants on any one Question Date. If on one of the Question

Dates when Selected Entrants are asked a Question on-air no Selected

Entrant correctly answers that day's Question, then a secondary wheel

("Secondary Wheel") will be spun. The wedges on the Secondary Wheel

will be numbered either 1 and 2, or 1 through 3 (depending on the

number of Selected Entrants who failed on-air to correctly answer that

day's Question), with the numbers representing the order in which the

Selected Entrants were spoken to on-air during the Show. The Selected

Entrant corresponding to the number the Secondary Wheel lands on will

receive a Vehicle Prize and the Wheel Prize determined by the first

spin done and announced on that day's Show. The remaining one (1) or

two (2) Selected Entrants whose numbers are not chosen by the spin of

the Secondary Wheel will not win any prize of any kind, but will be

placed in a "Second Chance Drawing" for an opportunity to attend a

Show taping in New York, NY where they will be given a chance to win a

"Second Chance Prize" (described below). If, on a given Question Date,

there is only one (1) Selected Entrant who answered a Question on-air

incorrectly, he/she will be placed in the Second Chance Drawing.

Second Chance Drawing: On or about March 1, 2005 all Selected Entrants

who answered a Question incorrectly on-air and who did not win a

Vehicle Prize in the spin of the Secondary Wheel (if any such spin was

made pursuant to these Rules) will be placed in a Second Chance

Drawing as "Second Chance Entrants." If there are six (6) or fewer of

such Selected Entrants who answered a Question on-air incorrectly,

then an appropriate number of randomly selected entries from the

original total entry pool will be chosen such that the total number of

Second Chance Entrants in the drawing equals twelve (12). If there are

seven (7) or more of such Selected Entrants who answered a Question

on-air incorrectly, an equal number of randomly selected entries from

the original total entry pool will be chosen and included with them in

the drawing. In the event that there are no Selected Entrants to

include in the March 1, 2005 Drawing, the Drawing will be conducted

from among 1,000 Second Chance Entrants who were chosen in a

preliminary random drawing from among all Mail and Internet Entries

received during the entire Sweepstakes Period. In the March 1, 2005

Drawing six (6) Second Chance Entrants will be drawn at random as

potential "Event Participants" and be invited to attend a Show taping

in New York, NY for the opportunity to participate on-air in the

random drawing "Second Chance Event" for a chance to win a Second

Chance Prize. TO PARTICIPATE IN SECOND CHANCE EVENT POTENTIAL EVENT

PARTICIPANTS DRAWN IN THE SECOND CHANCE DRAWING MUST BE ABLE TO TRAVEL

TO SHOW IN NY, AT SHOW'S EXPENSE, IN MARCH 2005 ON DATES SELECTED BY

SHOW AT ITS SOLE DISCRETION. IF POTENTIAL EVENT PARTICIPANT IS NOT

AVAILABLE ON SUCH DATES, OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN EVENT WILL BE

FORFEITED. TRIP DATES ARE ANTICIPATED TO BE MARCH 2, 2005 THROUGH

MARCH 5, 2005, INCLUSIVE, BUT ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

(if friend/non-immediate family member wins a prize) will receive a

1099 form or equivalent Canadian form from the Sponsors for the total

ARV, as stated herein, of his/her prize that he/she won in the

    calendar year that he/she won.

    5. Winner Requirements: If a Canadian resident is selected as a

potential winner, he/she must correctly answer a time based,

that deems him/her to be a minor) will be required to execute (and

have notarized) an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release,

(where legal) a Publicity Release, and any other documentation

Sponsors may require (collectively "Affidavit/Release"), which, among

other functions, releases Sweepstakes Entities from any and all

liability. Affidavit/Release must be signed, notarized, and returned

using the provided pre-paid envelope, within ten (10) days (if a

Vehicle/Wheel Prize winner) or within one (1) day from receipt (Second

the completed Affidavit/Release, potential winner attests to the

authenticity of his/her winning entry. A fax copy of Second Chance

Event Participant's Affidavit/Release may be requested and such fax

copy to have the same force and effect as the original document. If

applicable, each Wheel Prize winner's selected friend/non-immediate

    family member (his/her parent/legal guardian, if friend/non-immediate

family member is a resident of a jurisdiction that deems him/her a

minor) who is chosen to receive a vehicle must execute (and return

within ten (10) days of receipt by such designee) a Liability Release

and (where legal) a Publicity Release ("Release"). In addition, each

Wheel Prize winner's selected friend/non-immediate family member must

be in compliance with and abide with these official Rules at all

times. If a potential winner is a resident of a jurisdiction that

deems him/her to be a minor, prize will be awarded in the name of

his/her parent/legal guardian. If a potential winner cannot be reached

after a reasonable effort has been exerted during five (5) business

days from the date of the call, if he/she is found to be ineligible,

if his/her prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable,

or if he/she cannot or does not comply with these Official Rules,

winner and/or designee, as appropriate, will be disqualified and an

alternate winner/designee may be selected. Any personal information
